Katy/Houston, Texas

It has been a long but fun day. Isa and I started the day with a swim in the pool. Then Isa, Jimmy, and I went to Katy, TX for Emily’s 4th birthday party. It was a big hit with all the kids. It was a princess party with two crafts, a performance, and picture time with Ariel, Belle, and Cinderella.

After the pictures were taken, a dance party started.

After Emily’s party we went to a family party in Houston that wasn’t that far away. Sadly, I took no photos because we were pretty much in the pool the entire time. Isa was playing on this mesh floaty boat thingy and she got braver and braver on it. I kept waiting for her to fall off of it and sure enough she did towards the end of our time in the pool. She freaked out and cried loudly until I was able to ask her what happened. She then said the boat tipped and she fell in. Then I asked, “but you came back up? so you swam?” All of a sudden, she was smiling, realizing she swam for a second. She wanted to do it again! I didn’t let her do that again but she jumped into my arms for the next 20 minutes. It was awesome. Everyday she gets a little bit more confident in the water. I can’t wait to swim with her tomorrow!

Thank you to the Bateman, Wittig, Hansen, and Rudder Family for a great day!

Isa ventured in!

Isa is very afraid of swimming. She loves to play in the water but she tends to stay in water that is a foot deep or less. Today, with the aid of an inner tube float ring, she swam around the pool by herself. She would not step down on the third step of the pool even though she could still reach there but she swam around the pool in her tube. She was super excited and asked me to take pictures. She swam with the purple worm at first and then decided she didn’t need it. A SMALL step in learning how to swim but a GIANT step for Isa!

Jimmy was impressed!

Three Long Years…

It has been three long years since I have seen my friend Raquel. The last time I saw Raquel, Isa was about 9 months old and we’d just moved into our house. Since then Raquel has adopted two wonderful kids and I have had Jimmy and am pregnant with my third. How severely things change when you add kids to the mix, yet it feels like yesterday we were dancing at the discos in Monterrey, Mexico.

The kids played well for the most part. Isa and Jordan had fun and started a girls club. Michael wasn’t too happy about that but he came around. We had a great time in the pool!

Me giving the kids a ride in the blue and pink…hippo?!?

I rarely get in the water but Marc wasn’t here so I had to do it!

We played an intense game of hide and seek. I found EVERY one when it was my turn to seek! JK! Although, Raquel scared the crap out of me when I found her. I’m gonna get her for that one!

The kids had fun getting ready for bed. Michael read the girls three stories and all is mostly quiet now (at 9:17pm).

a cute one of the big kids.

and a super cute one of Jimmy!

Mostly Girl Time!

Leticia, my sister in law, is very pregnant. She looks great! We got two belly shots together.

Here is a cute picture of Nathan and Jimmy. Hurray!

one more!

Here is one of Jimmy in a book store. Lisa put him in this chair, and really, does it get any cuter?

Later on the same day, ALL the girls got their nails done, even Isa. It was her first trip to the nail salon.

Leticia, myself, and Lisa!

Here are a few of Isa’s first experience! She picked a pinkish purple with sparkles. It looks so cute on her!

Kiddie Park

We are back in SA. We had a nice time in Alpine. The 6 hour drive was painless…no sick kids, no movies, and both kids took a long nap at the same time! I’ll take it!

Today Jonny and Lisa went with the kids and I to Kiddie Park. Kiddie Park was around when I was a kid and was a favorite place to go. It is missing the super duper scary roller coaster, the Little Dipper, that took me years to get the confidence to get on but it was super fun for Isa and Jimmy. Isa rode the rides and Jimmy watched in amazement and waved.

They are best buds!

Isa on her first ride. This is what she looked like the first three times it went around and then she looked dreadfully bored.

Jimmy watching while standing! His PT would be so happy!

Don’t you love the pink plane painted with flowers and then there is a big machine gun. Isa knew exactly what it was and shot at us as she flew by. Nice, real nice.

Isa on the boat.

Jimmy loved watching his sister.

Isn’t he the cutest looking at his big sister?

Isa is on that bus, going to school and back, over and over again.

This was the scariest ride. After it started I was sure Isa would want off. But, she rode it twice singing at the top of her lungs.

And, lastly, the ride that was higher than the trees.

Good times!

Alpine, Texas

We drove for 8 long hours, stopping in nearly every town…or at least it felt that way. About 6 hours into the drive Jimmy got very fussy. I put on baby signing time and that held his attention for a little bit but he was clearly not feeling well. We stopped at Wal-Mart to get him some Advil (because there was no Tylenol or Motrin). He drank it up and fell asleep soon after. He snoozed for about 30 minutes and then we had finally arrived. Isa managed the entire trip with no DVDs, very little music, and was great. She is now wired though and not sleeping.

Lisa and Isa playing Barbies on my “bed.”

I put Jimmy to bed while we were all eating and came in after dinner to check on him and he looked like this. I guess he was feeling better.

Isa pretending to go to sleep. I had to come in the room because Isa and Jimmy were just having a good old’ time. I’m happy that they love each other but it’s 9:30pm…way past their bedtime.

Uncle Jacob wanting to see what all the fun was about!…obviously not about sleeping.

I think I have to turn off the computer now because Jimmy has stood up and down about 20 times. I am so happy he is capable of that but not at this time of the night. Isa just bonked her head on the frame of the sofa. I don’t think sharing a room is going to be fun after baby #3 arrives. Hmmm, might have to rethink that idea.
