for the Romantics!

Marc’s cousin, Mandy, got engaged today to Gregory. They have been together since they were 16. Gregory proposed at the Rock at Northwestern. “The Rock, near University Hall, is one of the best known landmarks on the Evanston campus. It has been a symbol at Northwestern University for more than 100 years. Students began painting the Rock in the 1940s, first as a prank, then as an accepted avenue of expression. Now, almost every night, a different group paints a message or symbols promoting a particular cause or event.”
This is what it looked like after Gregory and his friends painted it last night. It’s a little hard to read but the rock is painted, “My Manda, Will you Marry Me?” The concrete quarter wall, place to sit, is painted, “Happy Birthday Mandy and I can’t take my eyes off of you.” Super Sweet!
This morning Mandy was walking through the passage-way and out appeared Gregory. He classically got down on one knee and proposed. It was awesome.
This evening, which is also Mandy’s birthday, Gregory had organized a surprise party. We were lucky enough to be at the party. It was a great surprise and Mandy looked about as happy as one can be. There was a slide show and a video of the engagement. Tears were a flowing!
Unfortunately, I don’t have a picture of Mandy or Gregory. :( But, I have a few cute ones of Jimmy with his hot parents!
After seeing the last picture, I asked Marc to take the picture from a higher angle to remove the second chin.
He did a great job. Now one with daddy. This was right after the surprise. We were worried it would scare Jimmy but he did great.
Congratulations Mandy and Gregory!
