Welcome Rosalind Leigh Harrison

Rosalind, aka, Rose, Rosie, Rosie Leigh, was born on August 24th at 10:45pm. She weighed in at 5lbs 11oz and was 18.5 inches long. She has a tiny bit of whitish blonde hair and is a super duper cutie pie. We couldn’t be happier! She nursed immediately like an old pro.

Pregnant Photos

Janet and I got some pregger photos together. Janet is due a little after me on September 13. She has been having tons of contractions though so her baby could pop out anytime!

Count down time!

This week I have been getting in all the things I want to do before the baby is born. We went to the beach, park, and Millennium Park. Jimmy had his annual evaluation. I got a haircut. Now I just need to purchase school supplies and go to some birthday parties. I have a few other things left to do like get the car cleaned, put in the baby car seat, and pick a baby name. I explained to Isa that on Sunday she is going to Lexi’s party, then Monday we get to check out her new classroom at school, on Tuesday her baby sister will be born, then on Wednesday Daddy will take her to her first day of school, and then on Friday Grandma Bebe and Papa Mark will be visiting. It will be the best week EVER! The only thing that would make it better would be a sweet offer on our house (I doubt Isa would care about that but that would be super sweet)!

I forgot to mention, have a drum party.

Jimmy’s Annual Evaluation!

I love it when all the therapist get together to gush over Jimmy. It’s like he is their son and his accomplishments are their accomplishments. They all want to take him home and are so proud! His speech therapist says over and over again that she has never worked with a boy with Down Syndrome that is as communicative as Jimmy and they all love how focused he is during their sessions. It’s the best! I just sit there and smile but I might as well be a fly on the wall. I can’t get a word in edgewise when they are fighting for the floor about what they feel are their bragging rights. It’s a tough spot to be in!

We set some goals, the two biggest are to drink from a straw (Why does he hate it sooooooo much?) and to walk. I think walking will be the easier of the two. I can’t believe he has less than a year left in early intervention. Crazy!

Jimmy is doing so great. He accomplished all of his prior goals with the exception of straw drinking. But, at least, he is drinking! That was a big concern 9 months ago. Jimmy is turning into a big boy and is going to be a great big brother!

Crazy Times…

My friend told me today that she now knows that I am officially crazy. She suspected it for awhile but it is now confirmed since we put our house on the market weeks before our baby is due. You can’t plan these things. Sunday there was a great open house and lots of people came. One couple came a second time tonight and Marc and I have our fingers crossed that they make a decent offer.

During the open house on Sunday, we played at Grandma and Papa’s house.

Then Isa got a bob haircut. We convinced her it would be so cute and her cousin Olivia has one!

Later, we played library and it looked a little like this. Jimmy was in constant excited mode.

The key to keeping the game, library, alive is to get a new book before Daddy finishes the last book.

DSC04137

Today while I was lying down, Isa was making herself a cheetah costume. The costume is complete with face make-up. Gotta love it!

DSC04139

Here Isa is doing a voodoo dance. She accidently dropped the noodles and that accident entertained her for 30 minutes…at least! She made lots of “A” letters and then turned the noodles into a stage for some tap dancing. She had this little butterfly with her which made it hard for me not to think that it was some kind of witch circle.

DSC04144

Tomorrow is fetal assessment day. If my little girl is below the 10th percentile, a high risk doctor will be brought into the picture, and it is possible he/she will think the baby will be healthier outside of the womb. I will do whatever he/she thinks best. Thankfully, I am full-term! So, it is possible I could have this baby tomorrow. Crazy. I am going to try and schedule the inducement (is that a word?) at the same time as my friend’s C-section but odds are I won’t have much control over making that happen.

A busy week

I find this blog harder and harder to keep up with it. By the end of the day, I am utterly exhausted. And, during the day, in between appointments, grocery store runs, pool outings etc, I am cleaning, just in case, there is a showing. This is kind of what our week looked like.

Isa is singing a song.

DSC04032

Jimmy being an expert audience member. It’s a win win relationship between Isa and Jimmy right now.

DSC04035

Song continues on the unicorn. Isa will sing and you think the song is over but really she is just taking a break. Don’t worry, she will let you know that it’s not over yet.

DSC04046

This is my brother, Jonny, and his fiancé, Lisa, walking into Piece Pizza and Brewery for a surprise birthday party. I think he was surprised!

DSC04051

Yes, we are here for your birthday! Happy 27th!

DSC04052

Isa made a jumping pad. The chair next to the mattress is there for decoration. Is it horrible that when I see this, all I think about is cleaning it up?  She came home after swim class so excited because she jumped into the pool three times. She wanted to practice at home. This is Isa winding up.

DSC04055

This is Isa getting some air. I think there was one other jump where she actually got some air and then she decided sliding down was better. I approved of that idea.

DSC04061

Jimmy will play in this nook of a closet till all of a sudden there is no floor left and he can’t figure out how to free himself.

DSC04057

Friday we went to Fantasy Kingdom. Sadly, we arrived 45 minutes before it closed. I checked the website but my brain is completely useless these days. Oh well. My camera could not keep up with the kids but here are a few cute ones.

Frog, Giraffe, and Firefighter Isa.
