The Weekender…Jump Zone and the Bears.

On Saturday we went to the Jump Zone in Niles because we didn’t want Jimmy to nap and we were desperate to get out of our house. It was pretty crowded, but we had fun. Marc and I both went on some of the slides with Jimmy. He had a great time and it definitely tired him out. DSC06785

Right before I went down I seriously had second thoughts. I had a moment where I thought, this is too steep, I might not be able to keep Jimmy safe…then Marc yelled at me to hurry up and so I went. It was so fun!

Look at Jimmy. He’s having the time of his life.

The Bears did not Bear down and win. Errr! But, Rosie did get to wear the Rex Grossman Jersey that Isa and Jimmy wore.

This is at half-time and we feel the Bears still have a chance.

Rosie still has hope the Bears can pull out a win.

Here Rosie is starting to doubt it. I think Cutler just got hurt and left the game.

Rosie needed a bath and I thought I would give her one while Jimmy was eating. He finished eating right when I was going to start her bath so I put her down and got Jimmy out of his highchair. Rosie wrapped herself up and looked so cute. She’s so modest.

Isa loves it when Rosie and Jimmy and her are all in matching pajamas. I got two pictures with all three of them. The first one, no one is looking at me.

the second one, Rosie just got knocked in the face on accident by Jimmy’s foot. Poor Rosie!

I will leave you with a poster Isa made. It doesn’t mean anything. She just made it because she thinks it’s pretty. That was the description she gave to some guest we had over today. All of our initials are on it because it’s for all of us.

The other day Isa and Marc made chocolate pudding. When Isa was about halfway through eating her serving she stopped eating because she had a “chocolate ache.”

Sleep Deprived.

The last two weeks have been very busy. Rosie likes to party at night now. She gets up every two hours or so. We kept her up last night later than usual because we attended a fantastic fundraiser for Friends of the Orphans and I think that is why she slept five hours in a row. I just put her back into Jimmy’s room and Jimmy back in Isa’s room so that she can cry it out if necessary. I was so nervous about it that I didn’t sleep well at all. I hope tonight Rosie does a repeat of last night and that I relax and sleep like the sleep deprived person that I am.

In this pic she is trying to deny that she woke up five times! It wasn’t me!

Rosie loves the exer-saucer. She will stay in there for 20-30 minutes at a time.

Jimmy hasn’t taken any steps since the last time…at least not more than one at a time. I finally made contact with the SPAAC , Special Needs program in Evanston and will be touring the facility and learning more about the program on Jan. 31. I have spoken to a parent with a child currently there and she is happy with it and Marc spoke to someone whose kid was in the program and loved it. That makes me feel so much better.

Jimmy is playing with Isa’s figurines. What Isa doesn’t know won’t hurt her!

I will  be attending two kindergarten open houses for Isa at St. A’s and Kingsley. Odds are very high we will keep her at St. Francis but I want to make sure I don’t regret my choice later down the road.  The other day on the way home from school, Isa told me that she wanted to go to the A school. She stills likes the St. Francis school but she wants to make more friends. Who is this kid?

This is a cool hat she made while I was working on another project. My favorite part is the bow on the side.

We are still reading the Bob books. Yesterday, after a suggestion from Marc, I had Isa copy some words to help her remember them.

It should read, The cat is Mit. Dot and Mit sit on a mat. We will get there!

She got bored with that pretty quickly but she did want to keep writing. The only thing is she wanted to write were potty words. I totally let her. This is Bootie which Marc informed me would be better written with a y at the end. I gave Isa a choice between the y and ie so that she would learn that they make the same sound and she chose ie. WHATEVER she is writing and that is the point!

I crack up every time I see this. It’s horrible, I know!

It’s 2011!

It’s 1-11-11…so many ones. Today, on 1-11-11, Jimmy took some super tiny steps, first at school and then at home. By tiny, I mean, like an inch or so forward. Tonight, he’s wearing PJs that are too small for him and he tried to take a step in them and it just didn’t work. I will retire the PJs tomorrow and hope for a better walking experience.

In 2011, Jimmy’s preschool ends thirty minutes later, and I have literally watched him fall asleep on the way home. Today, we stopped by to pick up Isa from school after picking up Jimmy and I tried to hand him a graham cracker. He looked at me and then closed his eyes and they stayed that way for at least two more hours. He’s like, I just can’t do it anymore…pass out…see you in a few hours!

The big thing on my plate lately is thinking about where Jimmy will be in the fall of 2011. He’s eligible for the Early Childhood Center in Evanston. It’s free and he can get his therapy there. I have called them several times to set up a time so I can tour the facility and get a feel for the place but they haven’t called me back. Ugh! He could stay where he’s at, School for Little Children, which is awesome, but not free, and there is no therapy given on site (I think he could go to the Early Childhood Center for therapy on an off day but I’m not positive since they haven’t called me back). Or, we might be able to get him into St. Francis, where they have nothing set up of any kind for Jimmy and they probably won’t allow him to attend, but it would be one school for Isa and Jimmy which equals one drop off which equals convenient.

Isa has been trying to read. It’s great. I bought some BOB books almost a year ago and she has not been interested at all. I picked one up yesterday and she tried and got a few words. It was pretty exciting. She can do it if she wants to but she will also be lazy and just start guessing. She doesn’t realize that I can tell if she’s looking or not looking at the word. Silly girl! But, these are good baby steps to the world of reading.

Rosie just entered the world of the excer-saucer. She has only been in it twice now and she’s not to sure about it, but she looks cute doing it!

look at those feet! they just barely reach, if she is trying, and it’s on the lowest setting! love it!

Here is Isa. When I asked her what she was doing, she answered, “I’m dressed as a boy.” I don’t know many boys decked out in purple and pink, but ya know, I guess it’s not a dress.

I wish I had a pic of Jimmy James to share but I don’t. I hope to be posting a video of Jimmy taking some steps soon!
