Today was day one of camp Harrison. It was Marvelous! Isa and Jimmy could not wait for it to start.
We met Janet and the kids at Oz Park in Chicago. The playground is completely shaded and that couldn’t have been more perfect on this hot, hot day. Jimmy found a ladder to climb right away.
Rosie and Isla climbed these stairs a million times. Check out Isla in her 2011 camp shirt. I love it!
Rosie and Isla really played together and were happy to have a partner in crime on the slide.
Jimmy played by himself a lot of the time. He climbed up this one thing so many times and it was like he couldn’t stop himself. Eventually I could tell he was physically tired so we had a blueberry break.
Look how happy they are!
Isa and Al!
Olivia was great. She wanted to take Rosie through the park and I let her until a whole 30+ kid camp arrived and then I wanted her in my sight. I’m sure Olivia would have kept her safe though.
Three girls on one side and Isla on the other…hmmm…as Isa would say, “it’s not symmetrical.”
Al was such a climbing boy at the park. At one point I looked over and he standing on a single post that was there and I can’t help but wonder if he will be the next karate kid. I expected him to kick and then land on the other leg. Sadly, my amazement didn’t allow any photo taking.
Jimmy sliding down face first. I never did that as a kid.
You have to study the photo but 6 of the 7 kids are in this photo.
Picnic Time up on a hill!
What did we talk about? The Avatar!
After our picnic, we played: Mr. Fox-what time is it?, Red Light, Green Light, and Mother May I.
Look at them holding hands. I LOVE it!
Rosie watched all the games with her bag of Pirate Booty.
Jimmy relaxed in the stroller and watched the games! Rosie got tired of the Pirate Booty and picked up some raisins.
Now it’s time to leave the park and pose with Dorothy and Toto.
Back at Janet’s house, the kids watched The Wizard of Oz.
It was a scary part.
Then it was pool time!
Then we had dinner and went home. I can’t wait day two!
